Chapter One: Not The Subject!

"No way! No, under any circumstance will I-"

"Courtney! Come on! Live a little!"

"B-But it's Duncan!"

"Yeah, and..?"

"..It's Duncan!"

Two girls, one a brunette and the other a blonde, desputed inside of a beat-up, run-down cabin, and anyone within seven meters of the place could hear their loud voices.

"Hey, ladies please, lower your voices." A head poked in through their window, his voice smug with a hint of playfullness. Immediatly, Courtney took one look at him and prepared to shut the window on his head. Luckily he was fast, and the wood barely touched him, just skimming the top of his bright green mohawk. He grinned through the dirty glass before walking to the girls' right, and the front door opened seconds later.
He stood at the doorway in nothing but a pair of swimming trunks and his regular spiked choker, forcing the girls to stop and stare.

'Wow Duncan, trying hard enough?' Bridgette though, shaking her head and trying to ignore him. She glanced at Courtney, who was wearing a blank expression, and forced a cough to wake her senses.

"If you have a cold, take some medicine." Her cabin mate suggested a little rudely, her eyes blank
and ignoring.

"You girls want to go to the beach with me and Geoff?"

"We're busy. Sorry." Courtney responded blankly, turning her head to one side.

'It's like she's on auto-don't-flirt pilot.' Bridgette commented through her thoughts, before a small grin upturned the corners of her lips.

"Hey Duncan, we'll be at the beach later. You go ahead." She nodded him off, and he shrugged before leaving.

"What the Hell was that?!" She questioned Courtney in exasperation.

"What was what?!" She protested, pretending she knew nothing.

"Don't give me that!" Bridgette scolded her. "Okay, what I know right now is that you need help."

"What?! I do not need help!" Courtney protested, yet again, childishly.

"Yes you do! If you were any other girl that just saw their crush in a bathing suit-"

"He's not my crush.."

"-they would've fainted, or swooned, or something! Not just stand there like a statue!" Bridgette yelled frantically. "You need help. Someone who's an expert on flirting, yet still has the ability to make you trust and respect them." She thought about the possibilities for a couple of seconds, ignoring Courtney's cries of 'I don't want to do this!'.

"Well, could we possibly drop the respect part?"

*****

"You, want me, to give you tips, on flirting?" A slightly confused voice asked the two girl's as they stood before-

"Come on Chris? Please? It'd probably be good for ratings." She baited, hoping it would work.

Chris sat on a high throne-like chair, explaining it 'Added effect to his greatness'.

"Well, when you think of it that way.. Alright, fine. But this'd better be good. So which one of you girls am I helping?"

A moment of silence passed before Bridgette pushed Courtney forward a bit.

"You? Well, this might take a while.. I mean, you have flirted before, seriously I've got the tapes in my trailer, but you're just very, resistant to the whole subject."

"I am not!" She yelled angrily, her brow furrowed and her eyes glaring.

"See what I mean?!" Chris exclaimed, waving his arms up in the air.

*****

"Alright, let's start with basics: Knowing your subject. Who's she trying to flirt with?"

"Duncan." Bridgette said blankly, causing a pout from Courtney to arise.

"Shocker." Chris replied sarcastically, causing Bridgette to nod. "Now we have to figure out why she won't-"

"It's because I don't like him!" Courtney exclaimed loudly.

"I think it's pretty clear the subject-"

"Stop calling me that!" She interupted once again. Chris' brow furrowed before smoothing a piece of duct tape over her lips.

"There, much better." He stated proudly. "Now, we've got to figure out why she likes him."

"But how?" Bridgette wondered aloud. After a few moments of thought, her face lit up with an idea.

"What if we-"

"Get her drunk?"

"..No." Bridgette replied. Chris' face fell. "What if, we had her undergo professional therapy?"

"No way! Do you know how much those people cost?! Besides, I think we're doing a pretty good job already." He said with dignity, motioning his hand to an eye-rolling Courtney.

"We could just ask her." Bridgette suggested.

"But she says she doesn't like him."

"Good point."

They thought for a couple of minutes before Bridgette's face shone with the inspiration of another idea.

"What if we reviewed your tapes, and saw what makes them click?"

"That's not such a horrible idea Bridgette. I'll get the portable plasma screen and DVDs!"

Bridgette's jaw dropped.
